Here's a cool idea for a Fowlr that borrows the aquascape technique from FW.

I have a fowlr tank in my kitchen. With a sailfin and a coral beauty. Waiting for someone to upgrade and I’m buying his 75g for our bedroom. Can’t wait to get a gorgeous fish only tank. Already have a gorgeous reef in our living room 125g.

With my poor luck with corals lately I am close to just saying 'I buy a fish because I like it' and forget the reef safe marker. I did FOWLR for years 35 years ago, really enjoyed it.

Here’s mine. Been going for 2 years as of October 5th. I don’t do any water changes. Earlier on I changed some water but would guess it’s less than 75 gallons changed total in the whole time it’s been up. Have a little cyano but my PBT eats it! I’ve also quit using Vibrant and haven’t used it for about 4 or 5 months now. Dosed it every week from beginning until that time. Just took these pics minutes ago. Water looks a little yellow. Guess it’s time to change the carbon and GFO in the reactor.

Oh, I'm all over this thread!!!
But I'm more of a FOWDR, can I still play???

My pride and joy 90-gal see through in middle of my house. (I need fresh bananas)

This one may be destined for corals soon, just haven't decided yet.

Background was a total PITA, but worth every penny and all the effort. It's FW but that plecostamus in the back is a monster! He shovels snails and plants all over the tank. I finally gave up and started letting the plants just roll in the current. It's a marvelous display.

660 DT - Wow!!!

I have been wondering what should be my water regimen ... I run skimmer 24X7 and use GFO ... have lots of live rocks and 4 big bioblock slabs ... but nitrate keeps going up ... I feed my fishes well (only once - mostly pellets and 2 cubes frozen mysis or PE Mysis) and all of them are FAT!

However, I think, my blueface stops eating if water is high in nitrate ... so I end up changing water every 3-4 weeks to keep nitrate low ..

Last 1 month I have been putting 6 ml NOPOX daily (my tank is 8 ft long 240 DT, 60 sump).

How often do you change water and what %? How much do you feed your fishes?

A few things you could do. More frequent water changes, larger skimmer, dose bacteria, siphon sand or remove it.
