Here is mine, with a little tide pool vibe
Work in progress, more livestock going in.

I was going to say my 225 gal tank was enough, UNTIL, I saw this tank...LOL!!!

Love the Mangrove plant.

I love my nano tanks, they've had their moments as most tanks do regardless of size. my main tank is a sumpless/skimmerless 24x18x18 24ish gallons, using a black box lighting (modified by me) tanks been running since 2016.
I tried sps in it and it went well for a while, but I think with all the parameters that are needed for maintaining sps, it got away from me. So hammers for me now.

I also have and evo 13.5 gal.
Price and space was the main reason I went for a nano, a bigger tank requires more glass more lighting and bigger equipment to maintain it. Nanos all the way. Plus filling it with corals and fish would be expensive.

I love my nano tank. It's my low stress easy tank. I have it on my desk right next to where I work. Unlike my big tank of many disasters, this is a place of peace. Full of softies with a couple LPS and SPS for fun. A goby/pistol shrimp pair, a porcelain crab, and a pom pom crab round out the inhabitants. Really fun little tank.
Does your pistol not bother the other shrimp? I also have a goby/ pistol combo and would love other shrimp but heard pistols will kill other shrimp :(

Mine is actually my main tank since with renting an apartment in NYC anything bigger would cost more to move than buy new.

I only have a nano but hope to one day get a larger reef. Mostly due to space since I'm renting & some cost associated with being new to the hobby. That first year is tough but once you get some maturity going things start getting better and that upgrade itch starts. Definitely looking forward to getting a house and a larger tank to go with it.

In my 10g I have a candy cane pistol and I haven't had any issues with the pistol shrimp bothering the other invert inhabitants (although my pom pom crab did move her den to a different location after the pistol was added to the tank). In my 50g my Tiger pistol shrimp has a number of different invert tankmates including two peppermint shrimps and an assortment of hermit crabs and he hasn't shown any aggression toward any of them.

Need to add ‘I had one but it was a complete disaster!’ Mine ended up with every algae imaginable and the temperature fluctuations in the summer made it impossible to control even here in Scotland. I would try it again though now being far more educated in all things reef.

I have a nano! Been running for almost 7 months. More maintenance than my 400l
Slowly building up my coral collection. Thinking of turning it into a hammer garden

A 25G tank is technically a Nano Tank and it's still somewhat large enough to considerably stabilize or buffer water chemistry as well as stock a plethora of Coral and Livestock. I Chose a Waterbox 25g Nano Peninsula as my first tank because it suited a budget for me that I could perpetually add to. The tank size seemed like it would provide a large enough window to act on water chemistry issues and assist in the dilution of water parameters.

There are distinct benefits to an additional smaller tank. In addition to my 75 I have a 30 aio LPS and zoa tank. I LOVE IT. So much so I was going to move everything into a 40 aio until my wife convinced me to just set the 40 up too. But I digress, the wc is super simple 2.5 gal per week, Kalk is only thing I dose, feed twice a day and corals on Sunday. Only thing is you run out of room quicker and the fish selection is smaller. I’m good with that

My issue with nano tanks is SPACE. I had a 10 gallon set up once. There were 2 clown fish & some coral, but then I wanted more coral so I eventually I got me a 29 gallon tank. Still wanted more coral so I bumped it up to a 40 breeder. It was a great size tank, still like it. The problem is it was in my bedroom (limited space), so then I started looking for a compact size tank with plenty of room for corals (cube tank). I came across a good deal on a 60 gallon cube tank. I didn’t know the actual size of it til I got it into my space. WOW, love it & hate it. It’s big & compact, has room for corals. It’s just tall kinda difficult to get my hand to the bottom without a step stool. So my issue with nano tanks is I always go bigger…;)

I tried a 10g nano for my daughter, and it was a disaster. First off I was new and my 75g was struggling, so I paid more attention to it then the 10g. But constantly refilling the 10g with water was a chore and 1 gallon of water is a big change in params for that small a tank. Yeah, 1 gallon was a good day, it got lower... . Only had 2 fish, 3 hermits and 2 snails, when I tore it down; to better remedy my 75g. I gott in the right size but wrong environment fish and deaths happened.

I don't think I would do it again, unless I could too plumb it to my main setup.

But now I'm debating whether in the not too distant future, (2 years), if I should combine the 75g and my future build of a 280~300g [I'm actually building it for my sailfin, cause he's my first fish and favorite and he still fits in the 75, but yeah if he keeps growing he'll be 8" in 2 years] tank to a communal sump or leave them separate. So in effect the 75 becomes the nano.
