Did it bury itself in the sand? Or is it hiding under a rock and that's a crack in the rock? The latter would not suprise me the former would be pretty weird IMO.

I believe the picture is upside down. The mushroom is on top of the sand and appears to be stretching across the sand (almost like a worm). Not sure if normal but kinda neat

Ok, I am hoping to find a volunteer to cut a mushroom into a spiral and stretch it out like this. Seriously, we want to know what will happen. Someone is always saying their mushrooms are out of control, so there must be an extra one lying around.
