Will a 12" serpent starfish eat my peppermint shrimps?

I also got a 1.75" hermit crab... should i sell the starfish? I really like it though... also theres this white sponge growing like mucus on my live rocks taking over my zoas and frogspawn wood branch, how can i get rid of that white film? It is a sponge as someone told me before

Serpent starfish eat detritus. No risk to your shrimp, not that they could catch a shrimp. You have 3 aiptasia in your picture. You may want to consider researching how to deal with them before they take over

Yea ive done all my research only the corals are gonna be switched to my 125, the live rock with aiptasia is going to my garage, no fish yet, what about those white sponges

IME, the large serpent stars can catch and eat fish, so shrimp may be a possibility … not sure but I think the white ones are usually the problem.
White what, the sponge?
