Anyone have trouble taking tank pictures with LED lights? Will changing to T5’s make a difference?

Please post unedited pictures of tank with T5’s.

Buy a clip on filter for your phone. I have the orphek, but there are others like the polyp lab etc.

this is under just blue leds using the orphek filter on my iPhone 8

I use 4 T5's on my tank: 2 Blue Plus, 1 Coral Plus, and 1 Purple Plus. Photos are still affected by the shift toward the blue spectrum. When I want to photos looking more natural I use a very dense orange filter. (I shoot through the orange glasses I got at reefapalooza!). Here are two examples:

I have an orphek atlantik, that picture was just the blue and uv channel at 100% but the clip on filter made it look nice. I don’t run my tanks that blue normally.

here’s a similar photo no clip on filter, just blue channel on like 10% this morning. If the light was at higher intensity it would be even worse looking.

here’s how it typically looks during the day, this was no filter but might have been my dslr camera and not the iPhone.

T5s cure cancer, covid, bed wetting and incontinence as well.

Spectrum is spectrum. T5s owners typically run a mix of bulbs to get a broader balance of color and dont have a phone app where they can be dialed into 90% 450nm blue.

The yellow filter helps a lot. Camera sensors have a cutoff around 450nm, so an abundance of light at this wavelength makes it tough to distinguish chroma from luminance.

I just purchased a set Orphek filters from Amazon. The orange filter is what I use most and really balances the blue lights.

Same coral same photo shoot under the Orphek filter and no filter. iPhone 8p.

Newer phones have a manual mode where you can change the white balance before taking the pic. Just change it to the highest setting. Mine goes up to 10k.

Auto setting vs manual. Not as good as using filters but better than nothing and free.
