I was going to throw this on my sump for chaeto since it's laying around but it doesn't have much red spectrum in it. Will it grow or should I just pony up for a real grow light?

There is just a picture of Amazon logo there :)

However I will say I have grown caulerpa using a 26w cool light as well as using a cheap grow light I bought on amazon for like $30 or $40. Not the same as chaeto but if it grows one algae I would assume you could grow another with it.

I see it on my phone but not my desktop. Interesting. I think it'll work just fine imo. If its for planted tanks it should grow algae. I had a display refugiun using a kessil 360we, no red spectrum there and my caulerpa grew great too.

That is weird!
Awesome though. That makes sense. I think this will at least somewhat work as their graph shows some red but we'll see

Makes sense to have some red light there but go heavy on the whites as its supposed to be for a display. Do let us know how it goes though! At the very least it should make your refugium look appealing unlike my bright purple light that looks like I have a grow room haha.

Yup! That's the one I was looking at! I just didn't want to spend another $25 if I didn't have to, if this light I already have will work. That one does look very good though.

Can't comment on that specific light, but watch for corrosion on the mounting hardware and even on any exposed screws.
I took apart a UFO style fuge light after a flunked ICP test and the eye hooks and screws were covered in rust. Inside was pretty bad too, and I know the cooling fan was blowing it all straight into the sump.
