Hi, I bought a grossly overpriced Wilsoni coral frag. Lots of potential in it's 1" size ($199). Problem is it arrived from one of the Big 5 online vendors extremely unhappy. It's flesh had receded. And when I dipped it, a dozen or more white worms jumped ship.

Other than being extremely disappointed in this vendor, I want to try to save the coral. Most of the flesh has come back out. Just a little skeletal structure still showing. A lot of color is coming out too. I dose daily phyto. I'm curious about Korallen-Zucht Amino Acids?

Any advice? Thank you.

As far as I can tell nothing keeps these guys happy. Yes yours arrived with issues but even if it came perfect it would almost certainly suffer in the near future anyway.

Mine has been declining for months but it's a very very very slow death. If anyone has had them for several yeas I'd love to hear from them. The one piece of advice I can give you is keep your tank in the mid 70s. I can't say this has really helped mine but they do come from cooler waters.

Mine has been in my tank probably 6-8 months maybe? Intermittently feed with Red Sea reef energy a/b, and same with their coral colors. When I picked it up, it had been at my lfs for at least a year or so, not necessarily growing, but not receding either. I had it pretty shaded until 3 weeks ago, finally moved it a little more into the light to see how it responded. Somewhere between golf and tennis ball size.

I have a few here’s two of mine they seem to like a fair amount of light. I have these at about 120-140 par. They also like to be fed. I drop fish pellets on them they love it. They also prefer dirty water. I keep my nitrates at around 25ppm. Keeps them happy.
