Tip: Preventative measures go a long way in a reef tank. Coral/fish dips and quarantines drastically lessen the chances of various outbreaks.

Great advice I got was to to dip, qt, and inspect all coral.

I didn’t listen to it the first time around and dealt with SO many pest issues to the point I had to restart.

Official Entry: Reducing phosphate can be more harmful to corals than the high phosphate itself. Slow and steady you'll win the race.

Helpful tip official entry:
Measure alk consistently and make sure that your nutrients are in line with alk levels. If you are running a low nutrient system, keep your alk around 7, but if your nutrients are higher and you can feed more, you may be able to raise alk a bit higher. Always start low and work around the health and happiness of your corals.
