1. I use the Flipper but I have yet to have coraline grow on my glass and I don't think it will do the job.

Right now I’m using a mag float to scrape the glass but the blade is getting worn down.

I use an old MagFloat that's turned completely purple with coralline algae. I'll clean the glass at least once a week, sometimes more.

I use a mighty magnet and a hand acrylic scraper for the back panel. Sometimes I use magic eraser. This on my large system.

My smaller systems, I have a hand scraper, mag cleaner and flipper.

Currently use a magfloat and credit card and clean every other day or when I see something starting to form on the glass.

I guess it's almost like Ford or Chevy, they're both great trucks, they'll get the job done, they may have one feature you like that makes them stand out but when it comes to preference it's mostly marketing and what you started with.

Personally I started with Tunze. I was watching the BRS 52 series when I started reefing and Ryan was a big fan of the Tunze care magnet. I thought he sounded knowledgable so I took his recommendation. My favorite part about it is being able to use it like shovel and get all up under the sand line so there's no algae on the glass anywhere!

I did get a Flipper at one point just to compare and it didn't do it for me. I cut into a seal with blade once when I was in fresh water, and since then just decided I'd only use plastic. The Flipper's plastic blade wasn't as good for me as the Tunze, and I just never used the scrub side, so it felt like wasted options for me.

However my Tunze is several years old now, and it's not the strong model, SooooOOoo here's this post!

Oh and I clean my glass once a week, more if we're expecting company, but usually on the weekend is enough. I do the front and sides of my RS Reefer with the Tunze and I use a long handled stiff bristled brush for my back wall. I'm trying to encourage coralline growth so I'm just looking to brush off any clinging hair algae. I've been debating getting the Tunze Care Booster because I do like the float feature, but it adds a lot of bulk... we'll see.

Entry 1: I am currently using a mag float in combination with a good ole ace hardware razor window scraper. This would be a significant upgrade!

I use a magfloat but not enough and find that the glass gets a haze on it near the end of the week and i have to spend more time specifcally on the glass. Maybe once a month or two i end up going in with a razor blade to get some tougher algae spots or coralline off
