  1. Just got some frags. My ultimate rainbow monti appears to be dying:-( . But all others are great. And I incorporated my frag rack into my rock work. I love it! :-D

Ok, I didn't want to share. I'm very saddened by my last 6- 9 months of reefing. A while back I started losing all my montis. It wasn't pests. I'm convinced it was lack of some element in the water. I dont do changes. (Didnt). Now I do one every six months. 50%. My montis started to recover. Then I had a glass thermometer break. Didn't know till all sps, some lps started to die. Took a week or two to find the issue. After multiple water changes and magnet sweeps to expelled the beads that fell in, I think it's finally recovering. Or at the least they have stopped dying. My poor sps took a huge hit. :(. I have so much going on with my new house, 20 year old live in son, six year old and all these new bills. I have thought about getting out repeatedly. So much work. But I love my reef. And I think I'm making ground. So that's why I've been Mia a bit.

Good to hear your sticking with it! Ive had 4 fish die in the past month from different things so i can totally understand where your at. But i know i wouldnt appreciate the hobby as much without some horrible downs to go with the amazing highs :)

Dude... I don't have the right words of encouragement right now, but my heart goes out to you. If you can push through this and bounce back, you will be an even more incredible reefer.

Thanks guys :) I'm trying hard. Crazy how our reefs can just demand our attention at any time for hours! Worse than my wife! Lol. Joke dear. I love you;)

Update: had a thermometer break in sump. Lost a bunch of sps and damaged some lps. Took two weeks to find the issue. 6 50% water changes and a magnetic sweep later I have stemmed the bleeding. Hopefully it will recover well.

So after the thermometer break I lost my six line wrasse which was my very first fish along with one of my bangai Cardinals and one of my mandarins. So for my birthday I got a trio of purple queen anthias. A gift from my boss. Hope they do all right. I hear they are hard to keep because they require a constant feeding. Which I can handle fairly well. But they are going into a pretty well-established stocked tank. And I know Anthias are not the strongest of fish. As of right now they only come out in the morning time before the lights come on and then they disappear into the Rocks until the next morning. I did see them eat though. So that's good

Ok so, been havin a lot of lows. Cant believe how upsetting its been. Had a problem with montis just before moving. Then moved. Worked out the monti issue. Started losing flesh on my trumpet. Then my candy cane, then plates, red planet etc... found both electric issues and a broken glass thermometer with metal beads in my sump. Fixed that and started to see recovery. Then i lost a hammer/spawn colony, a dunkin head and some of my torch heads to brown jelly. Found a clip with rusting metal in the sump i must have knocked in while changing water after the first issue. Finally, i set up a 7.5g cube and without thinkin put the excess fresh live sand in my display. Enter diatoms.....

So i think all is right now. And things are recovering. I hope....
