Woke up to my coral looking like this. I've had it for over 9 months. Was doing great and growing but today was like this. I don't believe anything is picking on it. Nothing hs been added in months. My numbers are

Nitrite 0
Nitrate 9.3 two week water change due this weekend.
Phos. 07
Ammonia 0
Cal 420
Alk 9.3
Mag 1300
Ph 8.0

Just was trying to pick others brains. Other corals in the tank are blk widow, frogspawn, hammers, leather, zoa, trumphet and bubble.

Sometimes tangs can eat coral. It's rare, but does happen.
The skeleton does not look bright white like this just happened. Are you sure this happened overnight?
Can you try to get a clearer pic?

Welcome to the club Marcus! Fellow Rhode Islander here. I was born in Providence, grew up in Warwick. Left R.I. in 1995. Got tired of the humidity and mosquitoes. Been in salt for 7 years now. Lots of fun. Great community here. Good luck with your reef.

It's bright white I know the pics never do it true clarity. Just is definitely weird. I did have a few pics from a few days ago. Unfortunately they aren't clear enough to show.

Now it looks like it's just deflated and no Skeleton showing.
If that's the case, sometimes this happens and no need for concern.

Yeah seeing the white and the skeleton threw me off. I know it's feeders haven't really been out at night for the past two days. Also as you stated it's definitely not inflated as much during the day. Something definitely ticked it off it seems.

It could be simple light change that would make them mad at some point, I agree, ya have to love em. I would move him lower if it were me and start there. Just make sure he has adequate flow to push off any secretions he may have.
