It's a material that serves as a barrier for the glass bottom when running a bare bottom tank.

What purpose does it serve?

Wouldn't it just get convered in Algae.

I do barebottom tanks and just have it glass barebottom (I do not add anything to the bottom).

That way if you get Algae you can just scrape it off with a Razor Blade (I have never had to do that yet though).

A mixture of T5s, ReefBrite XHO Actinic LEDs, and Radium Metal Halides.

What T5 Bulbs are you using and What Combination are you using as well (1 of these, 2 of these, etc.)

It protects the glass which is important in bigger tanks where the weight of the rock is substantial. It also assists in keeping the rock in place. It doesn't grow algae anymore than glass, live sand, and live rock will.

Interesting didn't think of that.

Where do you buy it?

How do you clean it if you get Algae on it?

Thank you! The farm will enable us to grow tremendously we are very excited!

Lookin good fellas. I was there a week ago and was privey to the tour of the farm and so much of that was not there. You guys been working hard.
Thanks Jim. A lot has happened the past week, a lot of new pics coming!

Usually 1:4 white:blue we aim for. There are multiple different variations since we use some fixtures and some retro/ready-fit kits. We don't really use the other T5 colors much.

Wow simply amazing system. Great work and good luck with the expansion.
Thank you!

You can get it online its used in marine applications like boats. Marine board is another name for it. We let the coralline just grow on it.

awesome looking build:)
Thanks a lot!

Congrats guys!! This is going to be epic!!!
We are moving into high gear now, new pics of the progress coming tomorrow!! ;)

We removed all the tanks/sumps/plumbing we had accumulated over the years.. it was a mess. Now just a clean 4" drain to the farm.

oi5xj3J.jpg

Our good friend Luis removing 2 180g tanks from our retail floor. We won't need them now that we have the farm.

mORB0ef.jpg

So much more room now in the shop. We still have to finish the tile and close in the plumbing so you don't see it.

Mounted the lights in the hood for the farm show tank.

This frag tank used to be where we take frag photos for online inventory. Now it will be re-used as a coral receiving/quarantine tank.

4 hoods now suspended, only 1 more to go!

We have blacked out the background with vinyl in the show tank. Aqua-scaping being done right now!
