I have 2 maxspect Blue 65w about 8" from the water and they put out 600par just under the surface on 100%. I have them 80% blue violets and 30white 20ish for red and greens. On this sched i get 350 surface down to about 80 on the sand in and 18" deep tank..hope this helps

I am just learning but from what i have watched / read 250-400 depending on species...having said that some as low as 150...have a look at a guy on utube "the bio reef" . he has done 1, 2 and 3 years time lapses with the par readings.. i found it very interesting
