What would “crazing” look like?

Here's an example of severe crazing. I'd be looking at seams and edges first.....

Two hours away, I would ask for close up pictures of the welded seams first. Then make a counteroffer for $1.000 if there is no crazing because I wouldn't think the market for a huge OLD used tank would be very brisk. That aside, moving something that big out of their place into yours could literally be impossible without cutting holes and moving walls at both ends, depending on the access available in the existing structures. ($2,500 would be ok if they deliver!)

That’s a good deal, unfortunately I “need” a ten footer or bigger for it to look right on the giant wall

I wouldn't buy an 18 year old tank under any circumstances. Got rid of a glass tank when it hit about that age because I worried about it failing. Subsequently saw my same tank for sale 4 years later being represented as 5 years old .....

So how thick are the acrylic panels on this tank? I would consider the panel thickness as a very important point. Many acrylics are on the thin side to compete with glass prices.

I’ll have to ask, living color (on tv so who knows how valid) seems to make stuff well I assume it’s pretty thick but the person is pretty unresponsive.

Crazing is haziness/spider web effect often discolored areas. If low on scratches and verified it holds water- its a steal. I want a bigger thank than my 360g. This is a tad long but I'd consider a way for that price !!

Oh I wouldn’t buy it sight unseen, I’ll tell ya that!

Just looked at there website and the previous made tanks seem to be on the thicker side. You should be okay if the seams are still water clear. If you see white seams the seam could be in the early stage of failure. They also claim to hand polish which could limit the potential for crazing. Might be a good deal depending on condition. Wish you well on your quest.

I did not. I am thinking ten foot to twelve feet wide, and at least 30-36 inches high, I don’t want too “deep” because it will limit my space behind the wall. I’m thinking 24-30 inches is the maximum.

I’m open to good deals or good options though!

I too am looking for a larger tank at the right price. I can go up to 84", but would go shorter and wide and up to 3 ft tall
