Wrasse found in overflow this morning

Wrasse was found in overflow this morning. Don’t know how long he was there. Luckily barely alive. Put him in tank and he’s just sitting on bottom. Chances of survival?

I had plenty of fish hang out in the overflow overnight in my old tank with no issues, they were not wrasses though.

Every few minutes he gets up and swims around then goes back to lay down

Sorry to hear. Sometimes wrasse behavior s just a bit flakey, but in other cases,!what you are seeing is a moribund animal, close to death. For example, I’ve never had a fish get stuck to an overflow that didn’t have some major health issues that weakened it. Did this fish have any red sores on its body? This species is really suceptable to Uronema....

I’d did not. Was actually doing real well for weeks. Only disappeared in the sand for a few days late last week. Made an appearance last night then hit the overflow box before morning.

down to 2 clowns and a blenny...lost a gramma and this wrasse over the last month. Not sure my next steps

+3 I have had Wrasses, Chormis, Angels all in the overflow from what it looks like either Uronema or a swim bladder infection either way sorry for your loss

Uronema on same species. Lost this one quickly too. How did he get in the overflow? I put a lid on my overflows and no possibility of going through weir.

Think he jumped into the box and then got sucked through the siphon tube and was in that compartment. I should make a lid for it

Two fish in one month may very well indicate a problem. Keep a close eye on the other fish and really look for signs of problems. Red marks, flashing, erratic swimming, stringy poo, can all be indicators.

Yup. Gramma had a fungal infection after I added more fish with him. Wrasse just jumped. Everyone else has been bullet proof and all water parameters have been within range since cycling finished.

This with or without plastic egg crate Is a quick and easy solution. Use small tie wraps to secure. I like using the eggcrate cause it keeps it from sagging. So many applications with this material over the years for me.
