The top one has a yellow mass.
Is this shrimp carrying eggs? Is there somewhere you could direct me to to tell me what happens next?

Yes, the shrimp definitely looks "berried" (e.g., carrying eggs on its stomach). If you do a Google search for breeding shrimp you will find a ton of links. Let me know if you have specific questions - good luck!

You can't realize the size of the tank until you see it in motion. That's a Loong tank

A long time ago I wanted a tank like this with discus in it. Then I switched to salt.

Somewhere in this thread I said I usually keep a FOWLR with a few interesting things for the fish to swim around.
That is what I have built. I like corals but they are expensive and unforgiving. I stick to easy ones and let them grow. I had more when I could buy locally. I will add a few more this year.
Having an assortment of healthy living things is what interests me. It doesn't have to be any particular color or type. I am greatly enjoying the eel and lion and they seem to be doing well.
Watching a xenia pulse thrills the heck out of me.
What I have attempted to do is build a simple large system that pretty much runs itself. I clean the glass, fill the bottles, empty the skimmer and occasionally clean the pumps. I did tech for work but to me the ultimate system runs itself without it. It is designed to do the correct thing without control.

It's working and I can handle the maintenance and should be able to for a while.
Parts of me are slipping. It's something everyone has to deal with eventually. I have to deal with it now. It is what it is. Break a tank, put up another one. Keep on keeping on.

Finally got off my rear and put up the slave doser
I had to make a bigger shelf
IMG_2050-L.jpg

Threw away a big hunk of this stuff
IMG_2053-L.jpg

The 29 looks like this
The crabs stripped the rocks clean but didn't get the bivalves. There are actually 2 slightly smaller than golf balls.Their shells look like the crabs tried real hard though.
IMG_2051-L.jpg

I started draining the skimmer into a bucket. Because of the ozone it doesn't smell. I just made a trap in the tube so the ozone cant get out. I upgraded all of the soft tubing around the skimmer/ ozone system to ozone resistant stuff from BRS.
IMG_2052-L.jpg

2 more inches and this will break the surface
IMG_2058-X2.jpg

I like the fuzzy one. The coralline is coming on now.
IMG_2059-X2.jpg

All my macro went pffft. I made a post and am trying some iron supplement based on the answers.
It grows and my nitrates go down. It dies and they go up. So it oscilates from 20-50.
I am putting Nopox on the new doser. 40 ml a day.
Tropic Marin Trace 1nd 2 are also going on 20 ml a day each to start
Some of the fish are getting big so I started feeding some of the chunky food.
The anthias, trigger and chromis really like white worms.
My tanks are scummy. What ever disease Grant brought me took 2 weeks to go away and I am still a bit droopy with a cough at times.
I tried blocking the light with a piece of insulating foam but this phone can not get the exposure right
IMG_2066-XL.jpg

IMG_2056-L.jpg

This nem frequently looks like I took him outside and threw him in the mud and stepped on him. It doesn't scare me anymore.
The eel ate one of the rosy minnows today. He seem bigger too.

That's all for today.

In an amazing and long awaited bit of news the koran angel has decided to stop trying to kill the emperor angel and he has come out of hiding and gets to eat like a normal member of the tank.
I have been feeding him with a long tube squirting food into where he hides.
He is a bit punchy still and if one of the big fish darts he zooms into the rocks.
I think it's going to be okay. It was a bit trying to watch.

Something is killing the crabs in my sump.
I am pretty sure this is what.
IMG_2071-X3.jpg

He is bigger now
IMG_2072-X2.jpg

There can be only one?

6 doser heads are running now. The last water change was 12/5.
Jeanna helped me run the line for the outside air for the ozone system. That way I didn't break anything.

For some reason my anemone who has sat in the same place for months on the bottom
IMG_1919-X2.jpg

Decided to climb up the rock yesterday evening.
IMG_2082-XL.jpg

I do not know if this a good or bad thing but change is scary.
I turned the pumps up to 100% and put a filter sock in for 2 days to see if any goo would come out but it didn't so I changed it back today. Perhaps that caused it though I have done it before.

In other bad news my yellow tang disappeared 3 days ago. No trace of him. That is a blue and yellow that have done that now. Neither were small fish. I blamed the Blue on the large crab I moved to my sump.
There are no large ones in there now so I have no idea.

I had a fuzzy little crab release babies into the system this morning. I saw the fish eating when the light came on and watched a million little crabs go into the water. She just waved them out into the current.
IMG_2075-XL.jpg

The iron seems to be helping the macro. I have only used it a week adding it twice now but am seeing some new growth and it is more colorful instead of browning..

I ordered some Sponge Excel to dose silicates. I have a ton of sponges and the gorgs. Some of the blue sponges are very slowly shrinking.

Between the iron and silicates maybe I will turn it into green mess full of diatoms.

No guts no glory.

Someone said in a thread I was in that Americans will never feed their fish worms

I suppose I disagree.

Looks tasty! I’ve been feeding worms to FW fish for many, many years.

They are way easier than fooling with brine shrimp. The tangs aren't sure what to do with them and the trigger slurps them up like spaghetti from an end.

After weeks of death on sight. The Koran wouldn't even eat. I was sure I had screwed up.
Now they swim around together.
IMG_2095-L.jpg

3 angels in my tank is it. I don't want to watch that again.

Even the other fish are amazed and talking about it.

Now for my next experiment. I have a large aiptasia in the 29 gallon and I am seeing small ones in the 75. I am up to 3
I just ordered some nudibranchs. I am hoping the large aiptasia keeps making babies and I can keep a colony of nudibranchs going in the 75. I had some before but after the aiptasia were gone they were too.
I dont see any in the 240 even though there were some on the live rock after I put it in. I guess my file fish ate them.

I ordered 6 medium berghia nudibranchs from Reeftown
I also ordered an ICP test from BRS.

Everything I have a test for looks good. It's the trace stuff I am worried about.

No3 35
Po4 .1
Ca 420
Alk 9.3
Mg 1320
So the doser is set.

The iron did the trick. The macro is growing again.
