I was thinking of maybe just buying some shrimp at the store and sticking it on the bottom for them to eat

What is the recommended food to feed hermits in a heavy flow tank?

Don't feed your hermit crab directly they are scavenger there to help clean your tank. Blue legs are less aggressive toward your tank mates.

ditch the crabs. use reef flux for the hair algae. figure out where the nutrients are coming from so it doesn't come back

I was honestly just pulling it off with my hands but it is vigorous... hopefully now with my GFO reactor and massive protein skimmer as well as my algae scrubber I will have more success??
