Yellow Assessor pectoral fin looks like its been bitten

hi guys,

My Yellow assessor which I inherited, about half of one of its pectoral fins is missing, it still can swim ok and doesnt look like it bothers it too much, im 99% sure I got the fish like this a week ago, will this grow back? and is there anything I can dose the tank at all to assist with this?

Post pics if able.
Fish attack each other all the time, they also heal extremely fast, so it shouldn’t take too long for it to look good as new again. Just do your part in keeping the fish healthy (clean water, well fed) and nature will do the rest. Try to find out who the aggressor was.

thanks mate, it wouldnt of been any of my fish it would of been the tank it came from. i will ask the original owner though. and will try and get a pic now!

In a new tank with new tankmates I wouldn’t be too worried then (except making sure it gets along with its tankmates).

Thanks it seems really happy! It has a bangaii cardinal that it came with. It has its top fin looking shabby so it may of been in a fight in its previous tank with something else both seem happy now though!

Sorry guys the photo isn’t that clear but you can see the fin that has been damaged. As I said it doesn’t seem to be bothering it too much

Looks like the fin was bitten rather than rot and from aggression
As long as no occupants are picking at it, it should heal .
mid it becomes rot, Maracyn 2 in a quarantine tank will be treatment

Yeah no one seems to be fighting so i feel it was bitten in previous tank. Thanks mate!!!
