Hy guys!

so today I have seen white spots on my Yellow Tang and on the Royal Grama. Is that ich ? It’s a new Tank, all the Fish are from December in the Tank but the Royal Grama wich I add two weeks ago, i must say I did not quarantine the Grama. I use a UV-C JBL 18 W with a 300l/ hour flow rate .
My two Clowns seems to be just fine . The Tank is a Red Sea Reefer 250 .

Looks like ich, what else do you have in your tank? At this point, it is in your tank most likely. So either a. isolate the infected fish and treat for ich or b. treat the tank, find a product that is reef safe though (if you have corals). The best advice is to isolate and treat.

Also in the future when adding fish without QT check out safety stop

I only have 2 Clowns, one Royal Grama, Yellow Tang and CUC, so no corals .

That leaves you with a number of options to treat the fish... you could go natural and try hyposalinity , run your UV in the process or chemical treatments.

The spots seem a bit large for ich, but maybe this is a small tang? Royal gramma are very prone to ich, how many spots does it show roughly?
Sorry, but your UV isn’t going to control this, the best treatment is copper using a good test kit, but that can’t be done in a tank with live rock and CUC. Hyposalinity can work and it won’t ruin your live rock, but the CUC won’t survive that either.
Do you have a treatment tank you can use?

Hello Jay,

both fish are small, Gramma has 4 spots and the Tang maybe 5 or 6 . I have no treatment for now , tomorow I will buy something. It is hard to find in Europe something that is available in US :( Nitrate are around 10 ppm and Phosphates are 0.1 .

So today are all spots gone from the Yellow Tang, maybe a few left on the Gramma. I am prepairing to do Tank Transfer Methode, so I have set up a new Tank, 50 Liters . But I have a little problem..the Salinity in the tank is 1.024 and in the Transfer Tank is 1.027 . Would that difference in Salinity affect the Fish ?

Yes - for TTM, you need to match the salinity levels closer than that.
