Hi guys, contentious issue I know but what are your thoughts on a yellow tang in a 4x2x2 tank ?

The obvious concern is the tank length being 4ft rather 6ft. It would be the only tang in the tank.

Thanks for any response.

There's no problem with a yellow in a tank that size. Blue is a different conversation.

Just do it, no problem. I have a yellow, purple, hippo, 6 triggers and 6 other fish in my 90g reef with no issues. No water changes in 4.5+ years. They will stop growing at some point do to size of tank, so now it's time to bump up to a 187g that will fit in the currents tank spot. Here's a pic for ya.

i have the same size tank, no issues i think, i have a small yellow tang myself, so that helps, but my scape allows for a ton of places to swim hide and volume and he loves it! also hes the only tang as well

Just make sure there is a lot of flow for them to get exercise, I run 3 mp40's in something that size.
