SCIENTIFIC NAME - Coris gaimard

COMMON NAME – Yellowtail, Red, Clown Coris Wrasse

SIZE – 15 in (38 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE – 150 gal (578 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Should be fed a variety of high quality marine meaty foods. Will also eat other crustaceans and some invertebrates.

REEF COMPATIBILITY – With caution, may eat ornamental invertebrates other than corals.

CAPTIVE CARE – This is a semi-aggressive fish and should be kept with large semi-aggressive fish. As it grows it will become more aggressive and will eat smaller fish. They should not be kept with other wrasses. It will leave corals alone but will eat other invertebrates. It must be kept in a tank with a 6 in fine sandbed. Coarser grains (such as crushed coral) tend to lead this fish to an early death. Wrasses are known jumpers so the aquarium top should be covered.
