I have Flippers and MagFloats, which I use for scraping, but the best ever for polishing, or even cleaning equipment, back glass, acrylic frag holders, etc.

I'm fanatical about clean glass (inside and out) and TRY to clean it every day.

Inside is this:

Outside:

I use a bar towel and straight vinegar.
I'm sure it's my imagination, but the glass looks brighter and cleaner than using RO/DI... and no streaking whatsoever.

I recently saw the following video from BRS about the BEST glass cleaners of 2019 and I thought it would make a great topic for today's discussion and poll! Us reefers have different reefing styles, methods, equipment and so forth. But the one thing we have in common is that we all CLEAN THE GLASS and it can sometimes get quite annoying if we don't have the proper tools or the proper access to the glass we're trying to clean! So let's talk about that today!

1. What is your go to cleaning tools when it comes to cleaning the glass?

2. Do you have any tips or special methods that make it easier to clean the glass?

In an ongoing effort to make things as easy as possible, and keep my hands out of the tank as much as possibile, I have 3 mag floats (one on each side of my display) in my DT at all times.

Flippers on all my tanks. One of my employees was in the office on a Saturday with his kids and the kids decided to clean the glass. Scratches everywhere. Dumped the old scrapers, scored some Flipper's and have yet to scratch anything. To clean with I use a squeegee with a little vinager if the glass is really dirty otherwise I just use water. About once every couple of months I'll clean the class with alcohol, shine it with a microfiber towel and the apply RainX. Works wonders.

I use the flipper but cannot master the “flipping” it is supposed to do. Every time I try to use the flip the inside piece ends up on the bottom and I have to fish it out.

Had mine for a year and still only at about a 60% success rate with that.

I use a combination of cleaners...

Tunze Care Magnet Long
Continuum Handheld Algae Scrapers 35”
Algae Free Piranha Float Plus

The Continuum Handheld Algae Scraper gets used for the back and the area around the power heads; Tunze Care Magnet Long are used on the edges to not mess up the silicone and the Algae Free Piranha Float Plus for the rest of the glass.

Like most, I'm a big fan of the flipper. But you can't beat those plastic cards the credit companies send out free for the hard to get spots and the tougher stuff close to the seams. The curved edges come in handy. Also does good in the acrylic sump.

I haven't figured that out either

On the large tank i use a mighty magnet with algae cutter bag once a week.
On the small one, its new and every few days needs to be cleaned. Tools are sponge on a stick and a mag float.

Ive been using a handheld but looks like I need to grab a flipper. My trochus do a great job so I hardly have to clean the glass

I HAD NO CHOICE ON MY BIG TANK BUT TO GET THE " MIGHTY MAGNET " !!!
Very expensive BUT covers a wide area quickly and without scratching acrylic.

The ‘overpriced’ MM chez Simon also.

Though I’ve configured my lights to not blast the front panel which reduces the frequency of cleaning by a third.

Pricey it is but I had no choise as my glass is over 1" thick and not any options on the market. I can say it covers a lot of area quickly making my 10' run a 3 minute cleaning

Liked the flipper but somehow managed to scratch my glass with it even though I run bare bottom. Now I only use the scraper side and avoid the pad side I think it’s too risky to use.
