I have 3 tiers.

1. Beautiful even in my tank
This goes to Hoplolatilus chlupatyi, I love my wrasses but my old Hoplolatilus chlupatyi has more personality than my 3 largest wrasses combined. The colouring on this guy was so unusual aswell as I haven't seen many fish with a pale blue main colour.

2. Beautiful... but in someone else's tank, not mine.
This goes to the kingi angelfish. They're stunning but the price tag just to be scared about it dying off for no reason one day. (Photo isnt mine - I think it's an old photo from TSM).
See the source image

3. Beautiful but aggressive.
This award goes to my Jade Wrasse, he's a beauty but oh man he can be aggressive. He's only been truly aggressive once and that was at the very beginning of the transitioning phase.

I like em all but partial to this sexy little thang .
I just got one of those (purple decorated firefish) yesterday for my 55g. I haven't seen him since I added him in, but I am looking forward to his unique beauty in my tank.

I would need to seriously upgrade to a larger DT for one of these guys.

I remember seeing my first juvenile and it was one of the most unusual fish I had ever seen. I totally agree!

Sorry !!! Guys and Gals I really can’t pick one !!! Like the ones already mentioned and the ones I own and or would like to own their is a lot that would make a top list . Reframe the question to “ in no particular order list you top best looking fish and maybe I could play . of cource as I researched it it would take too long and I would probably exceed the limit . I keep seeing beautiful and new fish all the time that I’ve not seen before either coming into the hobby or in threads and other sources . Good question though !

Agreed! There’s too many favorites! I like adult orange shoulder tangs and anthias.

I saw one a couple of years ago in a small fish store here. I thought about and left without the batfish.

I’ve seen 2 and both times I was extremely close to grabbing it.
