1. How many milliliters of Calcium and Alkalinity are you dosing per day?
0
2. Would you consider your tank to have a heavily, moderately or lightly stocked coral bio-load?
Lightly-stocked
3. What types of corals dominate your reef tank? SPS, LPS, Soft etc?
Soft, I have 13 Zoa frags and 2 Toadstools.

---

I don't plan to dose anything until after I get SPS and only then if the tank "asks" for it. I'm sure by the time I add LPS, I'll need to dose something.

Large system (310 gallon DT)

Outside of one large Monti mostly starting out with frags again after a bad dino outbreak basically killed everything.

Dose B-ionic 2 part.
Currently at 150ml / day of each. Agree with @Uncle99 that a consistent unit of measurement should be used here, but I'm not sure what the ppm would be as unsure of the concentrations in the ESV products.

I have a moderately stocked Red Sea Reefer XL525 (~130 total gallon) with 65% LPS and 35% SPS. I dose using the Tropic Marin Balling system (Parts A, B, and C). After 9 months I have settled in at 165 ml/day for each part. Ca ~438, Alk ~8.9-9.0

I have a 60 gal mixed reef and dose 20 ml of AFR daily by hand but alk consumption is high for some reason so I dose Brightwell part B 25 ml in addition on a doser. I dose Brightwell calcium and mag as needed, according to test results, to supplement the AFR.

I would be very interested in anyone's feedback on why the AFR manages the calc/mag needs but the alk can't keep up - what would that be an indication of?

40g display and 20g sump, Sump has caulerpa , chaeto, red ogo and dragons breath. In my DT it is mostly anemones with soft coral / some LPS so I dose calcium mostly for the caulerpa /lps just a capful every two days or so and keeps calcium 420-440. For alkalinity I actually use purple tech , it increases both Calc and alk and helps coraline grow

300 gal display (sps) with 75 gal lagoon (lps softies) and I'm probably sitting around 300 total gallons. Use a calcium reactor and would say I have moderate stocking right now since the colonies are fairly small (much smaller than a year ago!). I run my reactor with a "wide open" flow and the pH is around 6.75... recently moved up to the GEO624 (from the 618) so that has helped a bit. I try to maintain ALK at 8, Ca is at 430 and Mg about 1350ish.

I was dosing my 20g nano yesterday and started wondering how many milliliters of Calcium and Alkalinity everyone else was dosing in their reefs. Now I know that the amount these are consumed will vary based on many factors including but not limited to the coral bio-load within the reef system. That being said I thought it would be fun to compare notes so let's talk about it today!

I need you to answer all of these questions.

1. How many milliliters of Calcium and Alkalinity are you dosing per day?

2. Would you consider your tank to have a heavily, moderately or lightly stocked coral bio-load?

3. What types of corals dominate your reef tank? SPS, LPS, Soft etc?

I'm gonna go with moderately heavy 120g DT/40b sump, 70% SPS/30% LPS and a fairly large Maxima. I use BRS 1.1ml dosers , probably about 80ml each of BRS Ca and Alk.

Mag gets replenished using IORC although I do check it occasionally - usually the only time I test is right before and after water changes, about every 6 weeks.

Dosing 425ml of ESV Bionic CA daily over 24 hours via DOS
total 850ml.
Dosing ESV MG by hand as needed to keep within parameters. Usually once a week.

Change 2.5 gallons of water per night via auto DOS with natural seawater.

Looking into switching over to calcium reactor. Deltec CRTT 1500
