I also have algae shelter and matrix in the sump, I could remove both?
The matrix is ok since its a place for bacteria to populate. As far as algae it will produce more pod and it doesn’t reduce phosphate As fast as gfo so no negative effects

I really have the algae refuge to raise infauna for the aquarium, such as gamarus, copepods, etc ... and to keep the ph stable during the night, I will remove only the gfo then.
Now I have the passive zeolites in an aquaforest reactor, later I will buy one to move them

thanks

U can use the rock without shaking. Its main function is more for reducing amonia and provide a place for bacteria to populate.

Do you dose the Zeobak to the skimz reactor or to the display tank? Little confused.
Some zeolite rocks are very small, went through the reactor mesh. Do you use the small rocks or large ones?

thanks

@ycnibrc I would like to give the zeovit method a try on my current tank. It’s a 75 heavily stocked tank that’s been running about 2 years. Current problems are 0.36 phosphates, poor coloration on sps, and some STN. What components do you think I should start with? I’m already dosing brightwell’s coral aminos.

I believe with automatic reactors you want bigger rocks
KZ offers a version of their media 'for automatic reactors' that contains larger bits. I've asked BRS to carry it, but so far, they've not done so. If anyone knows a US company that sells it, please let me know. Oh, and bumping BRS again on the subject couldn't hurt :)

Hi, I run full Korallenzucht Zeovit on my frag tank. Zeostones in a reactor. Lights on this tank are T5 ATI Sunpower and 2 Orphek Blue plus bars. This tank has been running for over a year now. I initially ran close to zero Phos and Nitrate but now I run 0.25 Nitrate and 0.05 Phos, the colors look substantially better. I have also reduced the amount of products I dose.

The below are the products I dose.
Zeobak and Zeofood plus twice a week
Sponge Power 3 times a week
Coral Booster and Flatworm Stop twice a week
Zeozym once a week
Coral Vitaliser and Amino twice a week
Coral Snow twice a week
I have B Balance and Phols Xstra special but prefer the color now without them.
I change zeostones and carbon every 4 weeks.

I buy those directly from KZ in Germany, are you allowed to import them into the US? It takes about 2 weeks to arrive after making payment for me.

I have no idea... BRS had never heard of it when I asked them about it. Hey, @Bulk Reef Supply ... we need this stuff! Goes with those Skimz auto reactors you're selling!

How successful do you think I will be with this system I have.
It’s a mixed reef and I have started SPS in the last 3 months.

I am running skimless and using Zeovit zeostart3, zeobak, zeofood, Sponge Power. All at the recommended dosage.
I am also considering using Coral snow.

my filtration is:
Algae Turf Scrubber;
Chaeto in the sump lit by a kessil 380;
Seachem Purigen and Hypersorb;

I do run my parameters high:
Alk-10
Ph- 8.25-8.3
Ca-465
My-1440
Nitrates-0.20
P0-0.05-0.09 (need to get this lower)

I believe in coral health and happiness not numbers. If the tank doing well dont change your methods. U can try coral vitalizer (sps food) and flatworm stop (coral health) both are good stuffs.
Your po4 is not high but it doesn’t match with your alk at 10. U can run alk lower at 8 to 9 then it will fit more with your nutrients level.

Hi guys,

Do you know if any of these products contain selenium?

I’ve been dosing zeobak, zeostart , coral snow and Pohl’s extra concentrated

Just did an ICP gets and selenium is high.

Trying to find the source as I have not changed anything else. Maybe I am over dosing? 160-170 gallon total water volume.

zeobak 2 drops per day
Zeostart 1.5 ml per day
Coral snow 3 ml per day
Pohls extra concentrated 3 ml per day

Thanks

No your dosage is fine. Zeovit ingredients are notoriously mysterious. They dont list whats in it. Hows your tank doing? What kind of salt ate u using? Selenium is more like a salt mix problem more than dosing problem.
