Cheers, I was hoping for some other experiences as I’ve read this before.

Some picture updates on my full KZ. I had a very hard time with SPS in this new setup. with Anthony's guidance on this thread, I switched to the KZ products roughly 6 months ago. I dose most everything with a couple of exceptions and use the reactor and zeolite media.

Unknown Acro. Was Blue when I got it, Turned brown, now its this. I'm curious to see where it goes from here.

@ycnibrc : the skimz Zar reactor does not seems to be moving any zeolite during flushing. any idea?
Not suppose to move the water flush the bacteria. Its not the shaking design type more like flush the zeolite rock with water jets

Very nice Anthony. I have a small frag of confetti starting to grow. It is much more pink though. I am not getting the blue tips yet.

Post some more pics and have some fun with it. Another video would be nice too.

I have been running Zeovit for the last 9 months and have noticed good growth on my SPS. I am currently dosing Zeostart, Zeobak, Sponge Power, Coral vitalizer and using zeolite in skimz reactor. My PO4 is 0.03. Nitrate about 20ppm. Alkalinity 7.3, Calcium 400 and Mg 1320. I did dosed Biomate and Snow plus before to lower my nutrients. I have been having algae issue (possible cyano?) for a while. I do 10% water change every week and would vacuum the sand with the water change. The attached photos are taken about 3 days after I clean my glass and vacuumed the sand. I do have a UV sterilizer and plan on using it. Would this have any effect on my Zeovit system? thanks

You are almost there at a year mark your system will show better condition. As far as UV I run it from the start 24/7 and no effect on the zeovit system. It does help with algae control the green one on your glass. As far as cyano it's a different strand related to nutrients.

Thanks. Good to know about the UV. I am planning on dosing Cyano Clean along with Coral snow to see if it helps with the cyano.

From what it looks like, based on what you are dosing is Coral Vital is being overdosed. Your NO3 is a bit high, so probably would avoid using Coral Vital. The PO4 is on the edge of low, so beware not to go too low or you can see dinoflagellates bloom. I am just getting over that for the past 3 weeks.

This is my best guess as a newer user to ZeoVit. I had a similar green film when overdosing KZ ZeoFood, which as far as I can tell is similar to Coral Vital.

Seeing how this post is older, do you have an update on the current condition of the glass and sand?

Cyano and zeovit is a normal. Zeovit run very low in nutrients therefore prone to have cyano. U can run higher nutrients or every six months do a chemi clean dose and repeat every 6 months. As far as corals no bad side effect on chemi clean and cyano.

Hi,
Coral Vitality says on the bottle it does not increase Nitrates or phosphates. I dose it pretty heavy and have not seen a problem. ZeoFood on the other hand is very strong stuff. It is a cross between the Aminos and ZeoStart. I do not use ZeoFood as it seems to attract the green film you mentioned. I also only do a half does of the aminos as this can also cause the film In my experience. I rely on ZeoStart as the carbon dose and dose the recommended amount.

cool thanks the info. I am starting to get the hang of Zeovit. I am actually having troubles keeping up PO4 and NO3 in my Nano. My nutrients bottom out quickly. I find adding ZeoFood adds that film to the glass and sand. Not sure how to effectively use it.

Dinos have been an issue for me personally, though raising my nutrients with Seachem Flourish and ESV CaNO3 are helping.

So things that I notice when I stop carbon dosing for a few days an suspend all KZ additives, I notice my skimmer reduce in output. I am wondering if specifically Sponge Power and even FlatWorm stop have some type of acetic acid contained in the liquid?

If so that could explain my plummeting. I test with Hanna NO3 LR and Phosphorus LR.
