I’m looking to upgrade for my 75G, planning to go full mixed reef, and eventually seitch currently have 2 Orbit IC Pro strips and one Fluval 3.0, I feel spread isnt that great or penetration.

My budget is 5-600$, was thinking of buying 2 used hydra 26hds or a similar used 90-100w module but came across the Z8 UFO on Marineandreef.com for 520$ the pair with mounts included and WiFi app.

I’m leaning towards the Zetlights, for one they would be brand new and the included mounts are a total bargain. How reliable are these, any one using them long term?

Just to put it out there, you may want to look at this. I purchased a new one on ebay for $375, was $430. upgraded model is $700. these lights have many more features. Will be getting mine in about 5 days

I’m not sure which is newer the 8300 or the Z8. Hard to find info on these lights

Yes the older model is 90 watts, I looked up the new model on there website and is only 55watts. That means you will need 4 for a 4 foot tank to get close to the ze-8300. This is why I am going to try the Cobalt Aquatics C Ray 200, only 22 inches and is 200 watts. Will complement my 2 kessil 360we tuna blue on my 75.

I think the Z8 is the new 90w model, because it has built in WiFi.

It appears ze-8300 is older than Z8? I just wish this company did a better job of informing potential customers about their products, I’m sure they’d get a lot more sales.

I have the C-Ray 200 as well (purchased on eBay couple of years ago for $400ish). What do you mean upgraded model is $700 as I thought there was only one model?

I am not sure, mine has 2 screw holes to mount the arm hanger and the ones I see for $750 have 3. Just assumed it is an upgraded model. Why would it be $750? The first light I purchased was make an offer, was $435 and got it for $375, the second one I got for $350. The first on stopped working after a week, contacted seller and he sent me a shipping label to return it for new one which I should be getting today. How do you like yours?

I do like mine and like others have said the app is not the best, but with a couple of practice runs I set up a setting I like (high blues, very little whites) and occasionally adjust the settings if algae creeps in some. One of the fans just recently went out so going to attempt to take it apart tonight to hopefully find a part number and replace it.

After seeing how the light looks and performs on my tank I had to get another. Glad I did, for backup which I needed the first week. The second works great except for the wifi feature, sometimes need to reestablish the wifi connection. Other than that I love this light along with the 2 Kessil's 360we next to them.
