My Zoa’s have been elongated and stretching the last couple months. I moved a Zoa Rock and a few frags up in the the tank and have seen no change. I’ve got an AI Prime for my 40g IM tank and set to what many agree on is the best settings.
My question is should I increase lighting, could I have other issues (my nitrates are higher then I’d like) or is this just natural an no big deal.

Fairly close to a AB+ schedule. Do the Primes have an overal intensity? If you went full AB+ that would adds some intensity. I have certain zoas/paly that stretch and have long stalks. My Sunny D for example do this a lot. I don’t think it means anything bad. My colony has gone from 2 polyps to over a hundred in 6-7 months.

stretching is not enough light. But not neccessarily by all that much. Move up slow or you might end up with them just closing up. But those purple/green in the front (Joes emporers maybe?) look perfect. The magicians in the back I would give a little more light if you can. Slowly.

The one thing I will say about zoas/Palys with longer stalks is that they seem to be the most resilient/hardy ones I have had. The ones with very short stalks seem the most susceptible to the brown film and also melting.
