Hey everybody,

I'm curious if anybody here has experimented with tank temperatures and what seems to grow your zoas the best? I'm aware that the different strands will respond differently to light and flow but I was curious if there was a rule of the thumb for temp? I'm running at 78 and have noticed one of my colonies seems to be fighting to open for some reason? I doubt it's temp related but it got me thinking on this topic for some reason so I figured I would post it.

In nature things grow slower in cold temperatures like trees for example. I've always assumed that the same would go for zoas. Though I don't think going from 78 degrees to 82 degrees would bring a noticeable difference.

Hmmm.... that’s an interesting question. I haven’t experimented with that.

I run at 80, but I have run at 78 and 82 and never noticed a difference in my zoas growth, color, polyp size, etc.
