I've got a single Nero 3 which has been really good. I think I had one issue where it stopped for a period of time, but a good clean got it going again without any further issues.

Still weighing up options for my new tank. Kind of leaning toward MP40's because of the cable being outside of the tank. Certainly prefer the ability to direct flow at least a little with Nero and the slimmer footprint.

I do use both MP40s and Neros and the cable is much less of an issue than I thought it would be.....I do have all my powerheads on the back wall though. Another huge positive of the Neros is the ability to pull the pump out while leaving the magnet and base attached to the tank wall. Makes putting the pump back in exactly the same place extremely easy.

I have run a Nero 5 and Jaebo slw 30 next to each other for 10 months.

I would get the Jaebo 10 out of 10 times as the performance is the same. The Nero had to be reset with power outages.

If you care that much about an app which you're going to use about 3-4 times a year at most then buy the Nero.

The SLW 30 is 3434 vs 4000gph for the Nero 7----$80 vs $330

I prefer to buy other things with that $250 savings.

You think that 2 Jaebo slw 30s would be enough for my 220 6' tank?

I would think about a couple gyres and then 3-4 slw 30s if it was me. They can be strategically placed and don't necessarily have to be on the full 3400gph. You can tone them done some for the Lps area or run different pulses, ect.

Give the Jaebo slw 30 a try for sure............ I have one in my 150g on pulse mode as well and its silent.

I'm not obsessed about noise level like Than Thein but they are fine in that area. I've also got a slw 20 on my frag tank.

I'm not sure about when running full bore as I haven't had to do that.
