Parasites in home made frozen fish food ?

Getting back into saltwater reef tanks, been close to 35 years. I did not make my own home made frozen fish food then, but plan on it this time around. I was just thinking if it was possible to pass on parasites from wild caught or farm raised shrimp, fish, and shellfish used to make the DIY frozen fish food. I know its been frozen, BUT, this may not kill parasites or their eggs. Most folks generally cook their store bought sea food they plan to eat so its can go unnoticed . There has to be a slight chance on introducing parasites to your tank this way, even when buying store bought frozen fish food.

Will say this is about PARASITES, freezing does not kill microorganisms that cause food borne illness.

Sure, there is a chance. Bacteria and viruses can survive being frozen, parasites may survive too. The fish are exposed and this will help their immune system. Pellets and flake have been processed, heated and preservatives added. That would be the safest route to go, but for the health of the fish, I believe that raw seafood is the way to go. It’s your choice on what to feed!
