My wife purchased this soft coral and it was sold as a Japanese Toadstool about 2.5 yrs ago.
The little guy was about fist size and now it’s about 12” round.

I’m asking because it’s getting a bit big for my tank and would like to sell it for a reasonable price locally.

Thanks.

Sarcophyton; not "Japanese," as Japan does not export any corals.
That is interesting...
I recently purchased a frag of "japanese toadstool".
The vendor also had a pricier "okinawa toadstool".
I've also seen some fairly recent posts of japanese softies as well, perhaps regulations have changed?

Anyhow, not sure how to price that... you could be on a gold mine or on a sack of coal.
Showpieces are tough because you really need to find the right buyer.
A lot more work, but chop it up, keep a chunk for yourself and then supply your reefing community and LFSs with frags.
I cannot identify that toadstool one way or another. So no idea if it's "special" or not.

It's just a name vendors slap on corals; they don't actually come from Japan.
