Count me in for the next one. Rebuilding my zoa collection and will have something to propagate and trade soon. Are people paired up by region so that a priority box gets delivered next day? Zoas could handle two days I'm sure, but not confident about three.

We're interested, but worried about the heat right now - it's above 90 today so I'd be concerned about overheating the coral. Maybe we can do this again once it cools off a little in the fall?

I’d be interested! I will be traveling until the end of July so I’m not sure if I will miss the first one

Such a great idea.
I had to vote NO because I had a tank crash and everything died but the Clown.
(In case you're wondering, yep it was Aiptasia-X !!!)
Slowly working things back up again but I don't have but a few zoa heads, not enough to give any away.
If you do it again in the future you can count me as a YES once I get the tank up and thriving again. I've got three peppermint shrimp doing the job well now.

REVISITING MAY/JUNE 2024!

Lots of details to work out on this but I did want to gauge some interest on it. Here would be a few general rules just to get you thinking if you would want to join.

1. We would let you pair yourself up with the person of your choosing based on what zoas they had to trade.

2. We would all ship in a thermos like this maybe? Inside a shipping box of course.

3. We would ship USPS priority (free box) which would probably be 2 days for everyone in the lower 48. (fine for well packed zoas)

I have ordered the thermos I linked to and will have it tomorrow to review and to see how many frags we can fit.

I think after the thermos and shipping we should be able to keep it under $20 possibly.

Anyone interested? Also would love to hear your ideas.

Idea is great. But unfortunately I don’t have corals to exchange at the moment.

I would be interested. I'm not sure why things like this aren't done locally with reefers. Very little trading goes on around my area. 06518. With places like wwc and TSA charging ridiculous prices it would be away for more people to get higher to mid grade corals without making a car payment for a single polyp.

Also in the early days of this forum we used to do this. As long as weather isn't extreme then zoas or more hardy coral can make a 2 day shipping just fine. You would really only be out the price of the priority shipping because you would get the thermos of the person who ships to you. Then you can keep it going, back and forth with others and build your collection.
I remember doing it a few times back in the day.
Sent a few frag packs here and there.

hmm I could play along...Got everything from nuke green palys to exosphere and stratosphere zoas and in between like bam bams, rasta, etc...Just will have to see how to frag them...or maybe put a plug next to them so they grow on to it...lots to thing about...

I like the idea, but am not interested in zoas at this time. However, if there would be an Acro swap, I'm in!

For anyone interested, I stopped by the Wal of Mart's yesterday and they had these.
No banana, so I used my medium sized hand for scale. Don't know the dry weight, but it says 16oz capacity.
