Hey guys im a 14 year old guy from Australia.
I have been doing a load of research and after my nano tank crashed and burned I decided to setup a proper saltwater aquarium. I
just thought I'd share with you my 20 reef tank that I'm building
I first went out and brought a brand new two foot tank that would fit on my cabinet (from my old two foot tank)
I next got my lfs to drill 4 holes in it for me,
2 one inch
And
2 half inch
I bought bulkhead slip kits (with strainers to keep the snails out)
I added the bulk heads to the tank and went out and bought vineal (don't know how to spell it) tubing (the clear stuff)
I next added this tubing to the 90 degree elbows on the bulkheads.
I added hose clamps onto the piping to secure it in place.
I then purchased a bubble magus nac bm skimmer off eBay (was only $89!!!!) it is a beast and is running in my other 20 gallon salt tank.
Once all the pipes were on the bulkheads I
Added my sump tank under the stand.
HOW THE SUMP WORKS
Water drains down from the display and into two pieces of pvc that will have filter socks in them
then water flows out the holes I drilled in the pipe and into the refugium. It then overflows into the last chamber that contains the protein skimmer and return pump(I will probably eventually get a rio and have the water split into both returns instead of only having one running.
