SCIENTIFIC NAME - Pterapogon kauderni

COMMON NAME - Banggai Cardinalfish

SIZE - 3" (7.5 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 20 US Gal. (76 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Marine fare for carnivores, crustacean flesh, Mysid shrimp, frozen preparations marine diet varied. Feed at least one time a day

REEF COMPATIBILITY - Excellent

CAPTIVE CARE - Males mouth brood eggs and fry, will spawn in home aquarium, house with non aggressive tank mates, keep only one or a single pair unless the tank is larger, will be peaceful at 1st, but, once fully acclimated a male or pair will start to chase and fight the others until dead or dispersed.

I love mine. I wish I would have purchased a pair though. I've had mine for 4 years now and it's huge. I've tried introducing others to pair with no luck yet.

Mine is big enough to eat peppermint shrimp whole. ;)

Love them! We have a small pair that will be going into our new Nano in 90 tank.

I have a pair and they are so pretty!!! They always come to the front and hang out with me while I tank watch!!!

i think they are wonderful, ive never had luck with them for some reason :(

Were the one's you tried wild caught? The tank bred Banggai's are normally very hardy.

I have a pair, but the larger one is getting more aggressive towards the smaller one each week. I have a feeling that in the near future I will have to remove one of them -- glad that I have other tanks that I can move it into.
