So we had a power outage for a couple of hours while I was at work :(

I now see the need to address backup, and will, but I'm wondering if this Acan will become my only loss from the outage.

Before power outage

Now :(

I moved it to lower flow and lower light. I dipped in SeaChem reef dip. And have spot fed reef chilli.

Thoughts?

It looks totally fine in the second picture. Its a little mad but fine otherwise. I have had an acan down to the skeleton with only mouth left and it came back in a few months. A couple I have will shrink up on a daily basis.

Maybe I'm being sensitive, but the green rims have always touched and I've never seen skeleton before now :(

Yea, sorry about the poor quality pics, iphone with mostly blue lights on.

Definately some receeding and skelton exposed :(

It's not horrible, yet, and I'm hopping it bounces back!

It is the only thing in the tank that was "severly stressed" by the power outage. There's a half dozen other acans that showed no stress from it...

Already dipped in coralrx :(

I presume it's a bad idea to keep dipping it?

Just curious as I am no expert, but why dip it in coralRX if there is no pest on it? Wouldn't dipping it in iodine be better as it helps with infection and healing if I remember right. I personally wouldn't dip it at all.

Of the 2 dips I have, CoralRx and Seachem Reef Dip, neither indicate ingredients.

But both indicate "for infection", but I'm not clear if that matters here...

Open to input!

Coral RX is coral medicine
It helps with anything that's making it mad including killing pests off it.
If one of your buddies or LFS have lugals iodide dip try that next. It really helps LPS heal and come back too

Dipped in Seachem Reef dip tonight, which (based on the color and smell) I believe has iodine in it.

There's still a decent amount of "good tissue", but no complete heads anymore. And I've not seen any feeders come out in days. Not looking good
