Ive been think about getting a sun coral but i dont have a dark place could i put on underneath my hob overflow

Not sure how much light your talking about, but I believe your idea would work. I had mine at 125 par

I think i described it wrong. I want to attach it to the bottom side of my overflow. So like upside

You absolutely do not have to keep it in the dark, that is a myth. They will get used to the light and feed normally with lights on, if that is when you feed your tank.

Should be fine to place there as long as fed properly they are found under ledges n roofs of cave openings in nature so hopefully that helps you.
