Well here goes my 90 gallon upgrade.

I ordered the tank yesterday.
A basic AGA Reef Ready 90 gallon with the overflow on the left center.

I started building a stand for it last weekend.

I had to move it back into the house for now because my wife feels that she needs to put her car in the garage.
So I just made some room for it.
The TV will be hung on the wall in the corner and the stand will move over to the other side of the room and be used as a end table for my recliner.

The stand is going not going to be skinned right now for 3 reasons.

1) In a rush to replace the 55 since the brace is starting to split.

2) and I don't have the money right now.

I have a stock pile of stuff that I have been accumulating for this upgrade.

The pump will be a Jebao DC6000

I have a DIY sump with sections for skimmer, fuge and return.

I have 2 Evergrow Dimmable Full Spectrum D2120 120W LED Lights on the way that I can hopefully connect to my Reef Angel controller

I'm going to move my NatuReef Dinitrification chamber, rock, coral and fish over from my 55 gallon tank.
Proabaly plenty more, but I'm forgetting it now.

Cant wait to see this tank set up. Any ideas on ur aquascape ?

I don't go crazy over aquascaping. I just kind of put the rock in there in a way that they are sturdy and secure and look nice.

Nothing is glued in place. I let nature show me what works and if I want to change it later I can since all the pieces are free.

If my pencil urchin doesn't like it and plows thru a hole moving a rock to the floor, I just pick it up and put it back where it was or somewhere else that looks good.

Mother nature does not spend her days sitting around figuring out where to place a rock ow where to grow a tree, it just happens.

I got a call the tank came in today.

Need to finish the stand and get it this weekend.

Trying to figure out what to use to seal the stand.

I'm not really looking for a water tight container, I have tile floor so a leak is not that big of a deal, just something to protect the wood and make it last longer.

I'd hit it with some Varathane if you want a wood finish. And the more coats with that stuff the better.

The interior I was going to paint white, so the light would reflect.
The exterior structure I don't car, but probably was going to paint it white too.

I'm going to skin it later.
I'm leaning toward red or white oak or old distressed wood (old Pallets or fencing).

I don't know if I'm going to have time to paint it, but I'm going to skin it later when I have some money.

Got the tank last weekend
Painted the back on one side to see if I liked the black or wanted to go with dark blue.

I haven't spent much time on this lately due to some family issues.
Mu mother passed away in October from cancer and I just haven't felt like working on it.

I finally got a coat of primer and Polyurethane on the stand to protect it a bit from water.

Still not sure how I'm going to skin it.

I cleaned the rock that I got out of my backyard and started to Aquascape the tank.

My 55 gallon that this is replacing can be seen in the reflection of the 90 gallon glass.

I added more rock that came from my backyard and was cleaned with bleach, then muratic acid and rinsed in RO/DI water for a couple of days.

Probably not the final aquascape because I still have rocks from my 55 to move over.
