Thank you Jason.

Because I want to keep pulsating Xenia and with skimmer no chance, actually melts
It`s not a low nutrient tank, i give 4+4/day congelate cubes of natural food, drop filtration works very well and is lack of nutrients.

Interesting, I myself keep Xenia in my mixed reef and use a skimmer and my Xenia grows extremely well. In fact it tries to invade my other corals and I have to trim it back now and then.

It`s a DIY filter, made by me and looks like this:

-group reactors

- individual reactors

15381505644_693a2b3928_c.jpg

The reactor recirculation pump has a flow rate of 1000 liters per hour, recirculate water permanent only in reactor chambers without outside access.
Water enters the cylinders always from bottom out on top, enters the next reactor and so far reaching back to the pump.
Water exits the cylinder due to pressure made by the pump ( drop by drop) and is absorbed in the last reactor due to the phenomenon of decompression performed by the pump.
The reactors are filled with dry coral rock 7-10 mm, the same as that for calcium reactors .
In a year of use had to retype about 2.5 kg of dry coral rock, acidity that occurs inside from disolving organics seems to dissolve calcium and releases in the system where it is consumed by the corals.
I use another type of filter after ATO to supplement the water evaporated. Osmosis water come down in a filter filled with dry rock, with low pH dissolve the broken coral and get enriched in elements and go in the sump, actively participate in maintaining kh.

I have a DIY CNC Router that I use to manufacture components:
