Here is what I've done to control my Jebao WP40's via my Apex VDM module.

I followed the instructions on this site to completely remove the Jebao controller and connect the Reef Angel cables to an Ethernet cable to control both pumps independently.

Jebao WP-40 - Manhattan Reefs

Reef Angel Cables

Soldered Ends and Heat Shrunk

Both completed RA cables to Ethernet cables with heat shrink

Completed with electrical tape for added strength.

Yep, I'm still working on some other profiles and as I get them up and running I'll post them here.

Awesome. Could you also explain what the profiles do?

In person, yes. On a forum no.... LOL I'll try my best...

Basically you create a virtual outlet. So let's say WaveRt is a virtual outlet. You can see the profile above and what the profile does. Now, you have to link the actual outlet of the pump to the virtual outlet. So that's where the outlet program comes in to say, from XX:XXX to XX:XXX run profile WaveRT. You can make as many or as few of these commands in the outlet itself.

So for me, I have a feed mode setup that shuts the pumps off for 15 minutes when I have feed mode on.

Next I want to create a storm mode so the pumps ramp from 75-100 for 5 minutes to really kick up detritus.

Hope that makes sense. More questions, stop by and I'll show you. LOL

Did you ever add any more profiles, Ryan? I finally built my breakout box for my Jebaos today. :) I'm trying to figure out how I want them to run.

Nice write up schooleyosis. I have two jebao's and two tunze's hooked to my apex in my 210 and have profiles similar to your's. I use one pump to create a double wave that runs 100% in the day and and then at 60% at night. Then the other three pumps work opposite of each other to create a bit of a gyre in the tank. On Saturday, I have three virtual outlets that come on and create a flow and lightening storm. I'd be happy to post them if anyone is interested.

That's sounds pretty cool trido, thanks for posting. Please do post your profiles if you don't mind. I think I just got lucky with making my profiles and I stuck with them because it does exactly what I want.

I agree... I'd also like to see how you programmed everything just to see how you did it.

I finally got to sit down tonight and log in. Tomorrow I have a cubscout meeting and wont have time to do anything but eat dinner. Friday I'll write something up and copy the profiles and pump programs so it will make some sense to anyone who reads it.

When I created the wave profile for my jeboa, I wired one to my apex and left the other hooked to the original controller. I tweaked the apex program until I had a perfectly syncronized on/ off sequence that mimicked the original programming.
I have one Jeboa at each end of the tank pointed almost at each other and one Tunze 6105 attached to each overflow near the back wall, pointed at each jebao on the far end from it.
I'm a bit of a SPS flow freak.

I guess I have time to add the wave pump and relevant profiles.

[ Jebao1Var ] ( 4_4 )
Program Type: Advanced
Display Icon: Left/Right Arrows
Program:
Fallback ON
If Time 08:10 to 20:49 Then Wave1
If Time 20:50 to 08:09 Then Wave60%
If Switch3 CLOSED Then OFF
If Switch1 CLOSED Then Wave60%
If Outlet Storm = ON Then Set100
If Outlet Clouds = ON Then StormUp
If Outlet Cloud2 = ON Then StormDwn

Profiles;

[ Wave60% ] ( PF15 )
Type: Pump
Synchronize: Enable
Divide By 10: Enable
Initial Off Time: 3
On Time: 5
Off Time: 3
Minimum Intensity: 10
Maximum Intensity: 60

This profile still creates a wave but is very gentle so the fish dont get bashed around when they're sleeping

[ Set100 ] ( PF16 )
Type: Pump
Synchronize: Enable
Divide By 10: Disable
Initial Off Time: 0
On Time: 40
Off Time: 0
Minimum Intensity: 100
Maximum Intensity: 100

This profile simply sets the pump ON at 100% to storm the tank

[ Wave1 ] ( PF17 )
Type: Pump
Synchronize: Disable
Divide By 10: Enable
Initial Off Time: 3
On Time: 5
Off Time: 3
Minimum Intensity: 0
Maximum Intensity: 100

This is the day time wave. I have it offset by 1 second (divided by 10) so It doesn't create too tall of a wave causing salt creep around the rim of the tank.

I'm still up. The other three pumps.

Tunze 1 and Jebao 2 are labeled poorly and I don't want to change all the programming just so it looks good on paper. They work together to push water toward the wave maker. Since the Tunze is almost half way down the length of the tank I have to have it set slower than the Jebao.

I guess I should also add. I have a BOB and switch 1 is to quiet the tank down for my wife if it's bothering her early on a weekend morning.
Switch 3 turns off all the pumps so I can shoot pictures.

I hope this programming post makes some sort of sense.

I see the market for Apex VDM module picking up real fast. Another quick sale for Neptune Systems. Speaking of which I need one for my RapidLED Onxy and I'm planning to do this mod for my WPs and if maybe my DC pump.

Rumor has it Neptune could be releasing their own Jebao pump branded for them. It was based on pure speculation, though, and may not be even close to the truth. It was based on seeing the Neptune guys speaking with Jebao at a pet conference somewhere.

I dont know about that, but do know for a fact that jebao will be releasing a generation 2 set of pumps in the future. There are still issues with Tunze's patent right now so it's doubtful that Neptune or anyone will be jumping on the Jebao wagon until they are worked out. From what I here, Tunze's patent has expired but for another company to make an almost look alike its not ever going to be easy to get into the market with other affiliates of the first company.

How are there patent issues if the patent expired?

Thanks for posting your profile! I'm planning on setting my pumps up tonight and/or tomorrow night. :)
