I have a 29g Biocube with a Kessil a360ne lighting it. I am at the point where adding corals is next on the list.

My aquascape roughly stacks in 5 tiers.

1. Very top - 2" to 5" from top of water
2. High- 5"- 9" from top
3. Mid - 9"- 13" from top
4. Low 13"- 17"
5. Sand bed

I am having difficulty figuring out what corals would be best for each tier. The Kessil light can put off a ton of light, likely more than I will ever use in in this size of tank. It is listed at 18" surface diameter by 4' to 5' penetration.

I am open to any corals, but I do like hammers/frogspawn/torch, zoas/palys, mushrooms, and am interested in SPS and harder to keep corals in the future. I currently have a couple zoa frags a mushroom and some GSP on the sandbed waiting to be placed. I have seen zoas and GSP at the top of tanks and the bottom.. how do I know what is best?

Any suggestions, tips?

I would start off with a very dim light, with the tank being quite small you pretty much want to place any coral anywhere and be ok. So depth really isn't the concern so much as the intensity of the light is. Go with a very dim light and increase intensity to the corals liking.
