I have a Carpet Anemone that came as a surprise when I purchased a Candy Cane coral. Now that the Candy Cane is failing, I'd like to remove the anemone. I've placed the piece in a high flow spot but it repositioned itself but stayed on the piece. Is there a safe way to remove it or should I just wait him out? Suggestions please...

Little ice in a bag at the base to get his foot up then slowly and gently work your way under the foot with a credit card or somthing unless hes big then you should be able to use your paws good luck!

How did a carpet hitchhike on a candy cane? Seems like the carpet is the more desirable animal in a dollar for dollar basis.

Kinda overlooked that lol must be a pretty big candy cane colony. I would def take the nem over the trumpets unless your tank is under 6 months old, think alot of people wait even longer before adding anemones

Well it was a nice sized colony but the nem isn't that big and he was closed up... at first. The tank is less than six months but he looks very good. Doing was better than the trumpets... lol. I'll try the ice and keep you posted.

Just got off work and it looks like my Mini Carpert nem found himself a new spot on his own.

I'd say mini... it's only about 3/4 inches across. The Gorgorians in the background give you an idea of its size. The tank itself is only 29 gallons...

Yeah, Mr. Mini Maxi has found his home without me doing anything. I like the spot he chose, too... now I have a place to put something else... lol
