This frag looks swollen and like it has blisters...just noticed in when the lights turned on. Is it something contagious?

Should I pull it out and throw it away?

I have seen this when the big three (Ca, Alk, Mg) get out of wack and stay that way for some time. Usually really high magnesium for the cases I have seen personally. I am pretty certain it is not contageous.

Is it going to kill it?

Alk 9.0
Cal 450
Mag 1240

I just tested my mag a couple weeks ago and it was 1340...I'd don't know how it dropped so much in a couple weeks but I'll add a little over a couple days.

1340 is on the high side but you seem to be okay now. Actually I would say your parameters are near perfect. Keep them there and let the Acro straighten out, it might take a few weeks.

I think my alk is a little high but I just did a water change and it seemed to have bumped up my alk a bit. I try to keep it at 8.1.

The swelling in the frag seems to be going down already, it is very strange looking though with the flesh all puffed out like that (the branches are about three to four times their normal diameter). I have a large colony of that frag but I don't like it when anything dies and I though it was some kind of disease when I seen it.

I discovered I was having some electrical issues with my tank and when I corrected them some of the acros have been having more polyp extension and seem to be coloring up more, maybe that is why my mag changed so much but I honestly have no idea. I guess I'll target 1260, is that a good number? For some reason I thought 1320 was the best for mag.

IMO 1250 is perfect for Mg.

Here is a pic of one of my Acros recovering from magnesium that was 1700.
