SCIENTIFIC NAME - Stethojulisbalteata

COMMON NAME – Belted Wrasse

SIZE – 6 in (15 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE – 100 gal (378 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING – Not known to eat frozen foods, they will eat smallinvertebrates they find in the sand and rocks.

REEF COMPATIBILITY - No

CAPTIVE CARE – This fish is extremely difficult to keep in captivity. They havehigh caloric needs and most aquariums cannot support a population ofinvertebrates for them to survive off of. They also do not adapt to aquariumlife well, remaining extremely skittish. Wrasses are known jumpers so theaquarium top should be covered.
