porcupine pufferfish

Hey all, Just arrived home to find something wrong with my puffers eye. I’m assuming this is an injury but want to be sure that it’s not cloudy eye. (It also appeared to have some sort of mucus string hanging from said spot, not leaking) This just appeared while I was gone for 9-ish hours...

My first puffer used to bite the rocks and scoop up sand, but can I also use cuttlefish bone or other stuff? I just bought a 1 inch baby porcupine puffer so he's not big enough to eat live crabs.
