Uugghh. Just got the damsels and, while they are indeed Speingers damsels, I was hoping for the black checked variety that may be a separate species but everyone calls them Springers and they even use the black checked photo in their store.

4/5 look great, 1/5 a little tattered and pale. Lawnmower blenny is looking good

15min h2o2 dip, now in TTM1.

Everyone looked good this morning- the small damsel a little lethargic maybe, or just too soon after lights up? Not sure

they seem to be eating pellets and spiraling enriched mysis, and I set up a baby brine shrimp hatch last night which I’ll feed a bit later

need to switch out 1 g of water for a change and salinity increase. They arrived in 1.020 water, so I need to switch out 1g a day with 1.026 for 10 days to get them up to the salinity of the observation tank.

mum still a little bummed they are the plain blue form, and not the black speckled form that was in the picture- but it’s fine. Still pretty to look at and the extra color and movement in the tank will be beautiful

The little damsel that wasn’t looking great passed last night. Signs of an attack, so I think he just got too stressed to defend himself and succumbed to bullying. I think. Haven’t seen any overt fighting but small quick flashes of territorial Defence.

it’sTTM 3- TTM 4 transition today. 3 more days and they go into the 20 long observation with 2 mollies. That’ll give them more space

Sad face

Ok, so the Horde are in the 20l observation tank with the lawnmower blenny - who perked way up after seeing the algae coated walls- and 4 canary mollies.

3 weeks hanging out and they are good to go

also- this is the most fish in one of my tanks in 2 years... silly, but true

New tank for the new house is going to be a 96x36x30 peninsula, external overflow with star fire glass 3 sides, pvc bottom and euro braces, with black silicone... that’s the plan. Already got a great quote. And wife is fully on board

she’s getting a 40b puffer species tank for her office. Her idea. Probably make it entirely separate

I’m also going to rearrange the sump layout. This one has been working great, but I might get rid of the 125 (with the empty, wasted, 40g capacity fuge section) and do the 29g WC / skimmer tank cascade into a 40b return section... with an in-wall 40b display macro fuge that will be viewable from the hangout room.

Hi Neil, so weird!? Always something though, right? Did you see I put a harlequin shrimp in QT obs tank Thursday night?
Yes- always something.

I did see that! So cute. Since my clowns have shown no interest in my anemone, I’m thinking of getting an anemone crab. Not sure though.

when I was planning on the floating mangrove 20l, I wasthinking of some RFAs and a group of sexy shrimp. Might revisit that idea now that I’m considering going ahead with the planted macro kinda-display tank.
