Cipro/amox at night followed by MB7 in the morning. Each day for 7 days. Same time. Thoery is replacing any "good" bacteria that the cipro/amox kill.
If thats the theory i would recommend using biodigest pro bio, more diverse set of bacteria. I do use mb7 periodically with my concotion. Just used chemiclean for first time in my tank as well, cyano wasnt getting better left alone.

I just had a box of biodigest delivered today as I am wrapping up a chemiclean run. Between that, Zeobak, AF Probio S, FM Bacto Blend and Bacto Therapy I am covering as many bases as possible.

The .34 in my chart was my mistake. Too much reef roids

No issues with coral growth and low phosphate
Nice, those are low numbers. You going for around .02-.05 in phosphate?

Yes typically 5 nitrates and .02-.05 phosphate.

I was hitting 0 for both for a few weeks in a row and while my colors and growth were good I felt I was riding a slippery slope. I increased my fish count and bioload significantly. A tang and 2 anthias that eat 4x a day will do that.

This increase in feeding has helped me keep numbers slightly higher where I’m more comfortable but I need to adjust my algae scrubber to compensate. I just added 1 hour to the leds 2 days ago and will see what I end up with. My phosphate crept up slightly higher than I’d prefer. I’m fine tuning.

I don’t run a skimmer, socks, mechanical filtration, and I have not done a water change in probably 5 years. All numbers are maintained / achieved by my algae scrubber. It’s a living filter that is adjustable and tunable and some people don’t understand that you do need to tweak it if you make changes to the system.

What takes care of element replenishment?

Ok...so AFR. your mostly lps and what not right?

Yea it was part of the tanks design. I used to keep sps but it was a lot of anxiety and heart breaking if a colony got rtn and just died overnight.

I fell in a personal slump when I lost everything from an extended power outage. And then lost a career. And had a child. And my life was extremely busy starting a new job and new path

I wanted my reef back but I didnt want my life controlled by my reef so I set out to build something visually stunning about 2.5-3 years ago and my whole concept was as low maintenance as possible. To inspire myself one of my first corals during my rebuild was my dream coral. A banana holy grail. Told myself I will rebuild, I won’t let this die lol, and there are incredible lps out there if I’m selective.

ok..I was wondering because that method won't fly in an acro heavy tank. By method I mean just the dosing afr every 5 days..lol. you can run sticks successfully without skimmers, reacters....etc... but those elements get taken up fast

I have dosing pumps and could dose 2 part and there are people also dose AFR multiple times a day. Wouldn’t be too hard to adjust methods to compensate for element consumption. But I’m out of space in this tank anyway

But…shhhhh…I don’t know what the future holds for my next project

Nice! I went the lps and zoa route for a few years and got bored. Now I'm just a glutton for punishment...lol

DO YOU USE A PAR METER WHEN PLACING NEW CORAL IN YOUR TANK?
