Hi everyone! I was wondering if possible to install a overflowbox on an already set up aquarium? The tank is already drilled its just using a elbow pipe for the water to go down to the sump.

You can partially drain it and silicone a new one on. As long as you give it a good amount of time to cure.. I have a coast to coast and pulled off front panel and had it cut down. Re siliconed it on.. I didnt let it cure long enough lost some livestock.. But you can do it.. I let it cure 24 hours 36 should be good

Do you think the livestock would be okay without filtration for 24 hours?

Drilled in the bottom pane or the back wall?
If bottom and you need an overflow that goes from top to bottom, you will need to drain the tank.
pandimus is talking about a coast-to-coast that is only like 5-6" deep and runs along the length of the tank at the top.

Glass-Holes kits dont even require it to be siliconed. If you just have one hole for the drain one of these kits would suit you. If not its a little more difficult.

There is a company on eBay or Amazon that makes overflow boxes. That are a complet box no holes just the overflow teeth. You can chose your flow rate ie gph size. then drill the hole in the box to fit the hole you already have on the tank and put a bulk head on.
