So we have had this yellow tang for awhile and I noticed him slowly getting thinner and thinner. I have increased feeding a smidgen. Currently they get mega marine and algae pellets alternating and a side snack of green algae. I feed ever day or every other day, I know my feeding is alright because my GHA problem is gone. We are testing the water parameters now but don't think they will be off any because everything else is doing fine (minus my hippo breaking out in ice for the first time). We do regular water changes and use high quality salt. My yellow tangs eats, and grazes. His behavior hasn't changed at all. Does anyone know or has anyone experienced this? We've noticed the awkward "poops" for about a month, maybe a little longer.

I would also increase feedings. That does not sound like nearly enough food for a Tang.

I haven't heard of the chaeto problem, but I do agree with the others that more food is necessary. I feed my yellow tang small amounts twice a day, once before work and once after.

You could try leaving seaweed so it eats at it leisure I know mine eat constantly. It also allows all my fish to snack as well.
