Plumbing is done! I painted the pvc the same blue as the back of the tank to try and blend It In as best I could Didnt drill the tank becuase I didnt feel like breaking any more lol so its really just a diy over flow but it looks way better than the 2 aquaclears. Im using an odyssea ex250 for a return and I know im gonna need somthing stronger when I add the check valve I ordered (Ill plumb that In when the when the stand is done) the pico is working great as a fuge except the skimmer didnt fit so I need a new one, I threw a filter pad in it with carbon and floss I start building a stand tomorrow! Doing everything backwards but I know better for next time first tank and all

Well id like to say it all went well but i broke the tank using the wrong drill bit haha. 1 12$ tank down, got the right drill bit and had a bit of practice with the broken one and i feel confident i can get it done tomorrow. i went ahead and did all the plumbing anyways and just used the "practice tank" for measurements so all thats left is getting this darn tank drilled update soon

Was the tank tempered? A tempered tank will break in a thousand pieces. A non-tempered will crack in large pieces. I got my diamond hole saws from eBay & BRS, cheapos but did the job.

I really digging your rockscape, very simply and elegant. Looking sweet bro!

Dude thanks alot! There not tempered I just should have gone to glass holes, the bit I used was cheap and crappy so next time glass holes all the way. Again ty for the compliments :)

Yeah I looked into gl*******s but ultimately went another route. I like how their overflow boxes are soo thin and doesn't looks so intrusive in the tank.

Just curious, why you don't use the skimmer/sump you have in the stand as a HOB?
Initially that was the plan as thats what it was made for but the hob is taller then the tank and almost as wide and its the smallest version they make, it just looked really bad not to mention it really didnt work lots of micro bubbles and the skimmer is usless without modification I got a generic brand, I think had I gone for the cpr I wouldn't have had the skimmer problem. I was actually going to throw it in the garbage but i put it aside instead and Im glad I did becuase I suck and didnt leave enough space in the stand for the sump I planned to put In. But I modified the skimmer a bit and im extremely happy with the fit in the stand its 3 1/2 gallons too so its perfect for the tank. A happy little accident this hob really

Behold, the nerd tank set this up for my brother took a few days to set it up and years of collecting on his part. Custom truVu acrylic all measured out so he can reach every nook and cranny of the tank as he is a paraplegic, it worked out to 33 1/2 gallons and a 14 gallon sump, he had a bio cube that was a nightmare to work on so I tranfered everything over. Still a little empty but im sure it will fill out soon. Kid has every nintendo64 system, controller, game, and promo item EVER MADE lol. He has a life size han solo in carbonite on the way too! Then there is all the comics, Its nerd heaven thought I would share :)
